- 1X2
- A betting market where you pick either the home team to win (1), a draw (X), or the away team to win (2).
- Acca
- Short for accumulator; a single bet that links multiple selections, all of which must win for the bet to pay out.
- Anytime Goalscorer
- A bet on a player scoring at any point during the match.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap given to each team to remove the draw option, making odds closer to even.
- Bankroll Management
- The practice of deciding how much money to risk on bets and keeping track of wins and losses.
- Bookmaker Margin
- The built-in profit margin in the odds, representing the difference between true probability and the payout odds.
- BTTS
- A bet on whether both sides will score at least one goal during the match.
- Correct Score
- A bet predicting the exact final score of the match.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes (home win/draw, draw/away win, or home win/away win) in a single wager.
- Draw No Bet
- A bet where you win if your chosen team wins, and you get your stake back if the match ends in a draw.
- Edge
- An advantage a bettor has over the bookmaker, often expressed as a percentage.
- First Goalscorer
- A bet on which player will score the first goal in the game.
- Goal Line
- The total number of goals set by the bookmaker; you bet on whether the total will be over or under that line.
- Half-Time/Full-Time
- A bet that combines the result at halftime and the result at full time.
- Juice
- The commission or fee charged by a bookmaker, often reflected in the odds.
- Kelly Criterion
- A mathematical formula that calculates the optimal size of a bet based on the perceived edge.
- Line Movement
- The change in odds or point spread over time, often caused by betting volume or new information.
- Odds Comparison
- Checking the odds from different bookmakers to find the best possible price for a bet.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals (or points) in a match will be higher or lower than a set number.
- Parlay
- A type of bet that combines two or more individual wagers, with all selections needing to win for a payout.
- Round Robin
- A series of smaller parlays created from a list of selected teams or outcomes.
- Unit
- A standard amount of money used to size bets, typically a fraction of your total bankroll.
- Value Bet
- A wager where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving an expected profit.
- Vig
- Short for vigorish, another term for the bookmaker's commission or cut.
